Elizabeth A. “Betty” Holic, 87 of Monaca, peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.Born on February 22, 1931, Betty was raised by an aunt and uncle, Mimi and Johnny Hodas and was a 1949 graduate of Monaca High School. As a young lady, she was employed as a secretary for a few years at Westinghouse Electric Corp., Beaver prior to starting a family. Betty was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Monaca and a longtime member of the Monaca Turners and their Tuesday night bowling league.. She enjoyed attending her monthly, neighborhood card club and shopping at the Beaver Valley Mall. Betty is remembered for her fashionable dress, her independent spirit and for supporting the Pennsylvania State Lottery.She was preceded in death by her birth parents, Ralph Alexander and Helen Balko Labold and her aunt and uncle, Mimi and Johnny Hodas. She was also preceded by her husband, William J. Holic on July 27, 2004, two sisters: Irene Smith and Evelyn Lewarchik, and a brother Robert Alexander.She is survived by a son, William J., Jr. (Amy) Holic of Chicago, IL, two daughters; Linda Holic of Monaca, and Patricia Sullivan of New Brighton, a grandson, William J. III (Kate) Holic of Lima, Peru, a great grandson, Billy Holic IV. Two step sisters, DeDe Meredith and Karen Householder and a step brother, Perry Alexander. Numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Kathy Smith Moore of Monaca.Friends will be received on Monday, February 4th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am with her pastor, Reverend Angela Smith officiating.
