Elsie Estelle (Erickson) Waddell, 85, of Rochester, formerly of Monaca, went home to Heaven on Sunday, August 27, 2017.Born on October 30, 1931 to Earl and Nora Erickson. She attended Monaca Schools and married James M. Waddell, Sr. on July 18, 1959. She worked in all departments of Phoenix Glass for 15 years. She then worked as an assembler at Westinghouse where she retired after 25 years of service. She loved many things like sewing, cooking, canning, gardening, traveling, camping as a Fox Fire camper, and had many friends. Elsie was a member of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine and the ladies Auxillary of the American Legion. Elsie was a very active member of the Barkeyville United Methodist Church while living in Polk, PA. Elsie was very proud of her children who all worked in the health profession at one time or another.Elsie is survived by five children; James M.(Betty Anne) Waddell, Jr., Judy Laveing, Paula (Robert) Witherow, Lori (William) Wigner, Norene (Joseph) Hill, step-daughter, Edrie Story, a sister Evelyn Hrelec, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She will be sadly missed by many who knew her.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, a grandson, Edward Altenburg, four sisters, Edith Hague, Ellen Poskosky, Emma Zupsic, and Elva Jeffries, 2 brothers; Earl, Jr. and an infant, Eugene Erickson.Friends will be received on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am with Pastor Dennis Arndt officiating.
