Esther Moorhead, 88, of Monaca, passed away Wednesday evening, May 28, 2014, at Beaver Elder Care, Hopewell Township, where she had been a resident for seven years.Born November 14, 1925, in New Brighton, she was the last surviving child of the late John and Elfreida (Hahn) Weiler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a sister, Lilyan Brown and her husband, John; a brother Ralph Weiler and his wife, Mary; a niece, Lynn Brown; two nephews, John ‘Jack’ Brown and Ted Woelfel and her beloved beagle, Snoopy.Esther was employed for many years at the Beaver Valley Mall at the former Gimbels and Cox’s stores and at Sears, where she held many titles including sales associate. She was a member of the former St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Monaca. A feisty redhead, Esther was always known to speak her mind. She enjoyed working in her yard and gardening.She will be sadly missed by her niece, Lori Brown of Brighton Township and two nephews, Ross E. Brown and his wife, Sharon, of Center Township and Robert Woelfel and his wife, Adriene, of Monaca.Friends will be received Saturday, May 31st, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Rev.
