Eugene ‘Tunney’ Adams, 92 of Center Township was reunited with his beloved wife, Dorothy ‘Dot’ Adams on Thursday, May 23, 2019. His passing occurred at Elmcroft of Chippewa.
Born on September 26, 1926 in Coalburg, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Floyd, Sr. and Cloe (Stevens) Adams. Tunney was a WWII veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Army. An avid Pittsburgh sports fan, he loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed hunting and fishing Tunney spent his entire working career at St. Joe Zinc, Potter Township from where he retired as a crane operator after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Monaca Center Lodge #791 F&A Masons of Pennsylvania and the First United Methodist Church of Aliquippa.
Tunney is survived by two sons, Ted Adams and his wife Debby of Springville, N.Y. and Bruce Adams and his wife Karen of Center Township. Six grandchildren; Valerie (Chris) Brown, Amy (Andy) Adams-Bobseine, Melissa (Rob) Anstey, Laura (Rich) Jacobs, Ashley and Alexa Adams. Seven great grandchildren; Aiden, Alex, Max, Keira, Kyle, TJ, and Ethan, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tunney was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy ‘Dot’ Adams, April 4, 2014 and two sisters, Alta Francis and Dorothy Siget, and a brother Robert Adams.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where services will be held on Wednesday at 11am with his good friend, retired minister Reverend David Wilson, officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Monaca with full military honors provided by the Beaver County Special Unit at 11:50 am.
