Frances L. Osbun, 88 a lifelong resident of Freedom passed away, Monday, January 8, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley, Beaver.Born January 29, 1929, she was a daughter of Antonio and Evelyn Anne (Giacomo) DiSanzo.Following graduation from Freedom High School, Class of 1947, Frances gained employment as a clerk at the former YMCA located within the Conway Railyards. Frances’ husband , Billy was also employed with the railroad as a brakeman. Frances had several passions: she was an avid bowler and previously served as the league secretary in the 1960’s; enjoyed playing bingo the St Felix Hall and was a diehard Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Frances and her husband were ‘snowbirds who spent the winters in Arcadia, Florida and would regularly attend the Pirates’ spring training.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Billy and five siblings: Esther DiSanzo Denney and her husband, Judd, Edward DiSanzo and his wife, Carmella, Eugene, Phyllis and Anthony DiSanzo and a nephew, Mark Denney.She leaves a sister, Antoinette Zupsic of Monaca, a sister in law, Rose Marie DiSanzo of Freedom, two nieces, Marilyn Chesko and Linda (Arnold) Liberatore , all of Monaca., four nephews: Anthony (Pat) DiSanzo of Mahopac, New York, Fred (Joan) DiSanzo of Maspeth, New York, Anthony Disanzo of Freedom and Jeffrey (Suzanne) DiSanzo of Brighton Township.Friends will be received on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where prayers will be offered of Thursday at 9:15 am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 am in St Felix Catholic Church, Freedom. Father Paul Kuppe, O.F.M., Cap. will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Freedom.The family gratefully thanks the caregivers at Elmcroft of Chippewa, particularly a very special nurse, Tiffani Maloskey and Grane Hospice for the wonderful care Frances received.
