Frances Hood Skinner, 92, formerly of Monaca passed away Sunday afternoon, Feb. 14, 2010, at Friendship Ridge.
Born Dec 15, 1917, in Rochester, she was a daughter of the late Charles L. and Mary J. (Hicks) Hood.
Frances spent the majority of her life in Bonita Springs, Fla. where she lived an energetic and independent life. She was an active member of the community, the Bonita Springs Presbyterian Church, and continued to work well into her eighties. She returned to Beaver Valley six months ago due to failing health.
She leaves two brothers, Jack W. Hood and his wife, Billie, of San Antonio, TX and Charles L. Hood and his wife, Shirley, of Monaca; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Hood of Freedom and a special nephew, Thomas J. Hood of Pittsburgh.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John D. Skinner; a brother, James D. Hood and a sister, Catherine Hood.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Rev. Beth Wierman-Lambert, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Monaca will officiate.
