Frances M. Tonsetic, 89, of Monaca, passed away peacefully on Thurs., March 19, 2015, and went home to heaven to be with her Lord and to be reunited with her loving husband, Emil.Born March 9, 1926, she was raised in the Logstown area of Aliquippa. Frances was part of a large family who cherished their Croatian heritage and traditions.She is survived by a daughter, Ann Stewart of Monaca who cared for her and a grandson, Geoffrey Stewart and his fiancée, Ashley (Rader) of Monaca, as well as various nieces and nephews. Frances will be missed by a dear niece, Karen Johnson of DuBois, who always remained a part of Frances’ life.She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; her parents, John and Mary Susan; three brothers, Frank, Michael and Thomas Susan, as well as a sister, Ann.Frances was a homemaker, mother and wife all her life. She enjoyed playing bingo and crocheting, as hobbies and listening to Croatian Tamburitzans and polka music. She was a great cook and baker, filling her home with homemade food, cakes, pies and nut rolls. Frances enjoyed following the Steelers, Penguins and the Pirates sports teams. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca and also The Croatian Fraternal Lodge 423 in Aliquippa.Most recently she resided at Providence Care Center in Beaver Falls. She participated in many activities at the center and enjoyed the friendship she made while there. She was bestowed with the honor of Ambassador of 2A during her time there. Frances was also named several times Resident of the Month while at Providence. She was also known as ‘Bingo Francie’ by the staff and residents, due to her love of the game of bingo.The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Providence Care Center, especially the nurses and aides on 2A for the care, compassion and love that she was given while there and also to the Grange Hospice staff that cared for her most recently.Friends will be received Monday, March 23rd, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of blessing service at 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.
