Francis ‘Frank’ Joseph Yakich Jr., 58, of Harmony Township, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 22 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Son of Janet (Hood) Yakich and the Late Francis ‘Sonny’ J. Yakich Sr. of Center Township
Frank is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon (Kronstein) Yakich, daughter Nicole Yakich, son Alec (Elizabeth) Yakich, his cherished grandchildren – Isabella, Kayden, Tegan, & Jaxon Yakich, Brothers – Michael Yakich and Thomas (Kelly) Yakich, Sisters – Susan (Blaise) Lorenz and Melissa Yakich, In-Laws – Stephen Kronstein, Michael Kronstein, Patricia (Michael) McKeown, Linda (David) Fink, & Diana Kronstein, and numerous adored nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his Grandparents – Mary and Charles Bailey and Stefonia and Joseph Yakich, Brother-in-law – Frank (Jill) Kronstein.
Frank was a graduate of Center Area High School, Penn State, and St. Vincent College. As a child, he traveled the country with his parents and siblings exploring every summer. As an adult, he continued boating, mountain biking, skiing, and traveling with his family. He was a member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, Ambridge, Pennsylvania where he served as an auditor for several years.
Frank traveled the world as a contractor for the State Department and was invited to attend the speech by President Ronald Reagan at the Berlin Wall in Germany. He completed his career as Manager of Loss Prevention for Allegheny Energy/ First Energy.
Friends will be received Monday, September 27, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM until the Parastas Service at 7:30 PM at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Service, 1119 Washington Ave. Monaca, Pennsylvania, 15061. With translation of the body to follow to Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, 210 Maplewood Ave. Ambridge, Pennsylvania 15003, where a funeral service will be held, Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM with the Very Reverend Father William Evansky officiating. Interment will follow at Economy Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Trauma ICU Team and Dr. Thomas Scott, Carol, Lisa, Sherri, and Heidi in Neurology at Allegheny General Hospital (Pittsburgh, PA) for their care and guidance to Frank and our family fighting this disease.
