Frank C. Snyder, Sr., 74, of New Sewickley Township, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, at the emergency department of UPMC Passavant Cranberry.Born March 2, 1942, in St. Mary’s, PA, he was the last surviving son of the late Charles A. and Mary Madelyn (Weigle) Snyder. Growing up in Monaca, Frank played on the town’s first midget football team. In his early years he was an amateur boxer and was coached by Teddy Yarosz of Golden Glove Boxing fame. Frank abandoned that dream after the birth of his first son, and gained employment with Pittsburgh Tube to support his family. His new passion became country music. Frank played bass guitar and was a member of the Tri-State Music Association. His membership afforded him the opportunity to attend numerous country music jamborees and to personally meet several well-known country musicians. An avid hunter and fisherman, Frank enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved to tinker around the house.He leaves two sons, Frank C. Snyder, Jr. and Evan-Thomas Snyder I and his wife, Nicole, all of Monaca; and eight grandchildren, Ashley, Evan II, Madison, Mackenzie, Rowan, Carson, McKenna and Charlie.In addition to his parents Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; and four brothers, Gerald, Bill, Dale and Stanley ‘Snip’.Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca.
