Frank E. Parker, 89, of Center Township, died peacefully on September 20, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 8, 1930 in Crescent Township, Allegheny County, the son of the late Charles O. and Clara R. (Hickey) Parker.
Frank proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict and was with the 5th Calvary Regiment from 1949-1952. Upon return, he began working at Horsehead Industries, formerly St. Joe Lead Company. His passion in life was fishing. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing and gardening.
The last surviving member of his immediate family, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, William O., and his sister, Nancy L. Mros, his nephews Donald (Bumper) Parker, and Daniel (Danny) Buccini and his best friend Ted Simmons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Janet L. DeFelice Parker, his children; Deborah (John) Bayer, Frank (Anita) Parker, Suzanne (Michael) Vlasic, grandchildren; Brianne (Mitch) Mitchell, Michael (Jessica) Bayer, Justine (Michael) Russell, Alison Parker, Melanie Vlasic, and Mikaela Vlasic, great grandchildren; Della and Lila Mitchell, Macksen and Lincoln Bayer, and Fletcher Russell. Additionally he is survived by the following sisters in law and brothers in law; Marlene Parker, Paul Mros, Steve (Bertha) “Bertie” Moakley, John (Shirley) DeFelice, and Donald (Anita) “Nini” Regney, and many loved nieces and nephews, and special friend, Jean Haines, and his “Shady Acres” family.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where a service will held on Friday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Monaca.
with full military honors by the Beaver County Unit at 10:40 am
