Genevieve Ann (Dusold) Rowan, 80 of Monaca died on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver surrounded by her loving family.Born on March 14, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Genevieve (Hagerty) Dusold of Center Township. (Founders of Echo Point Dairy). Genevieve was a graduate of Mount Gallitzin Catholic High School and Garfield Business College. A homemaker, she previously was employed at Quigley Catholic High School as a baker in the cafeteria for 19 years. Genevieve was a devout member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca where she was very active, as a past President of Christian Mothers, a member of St. John’s Choir, and a 25 year member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She received the Manifest Kingdom award with recognition and appreciation from the Diocese of Pittsburgh in 2011. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, baking, and most of all cheating at Chinese checkers and card games with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her five brothers; George, John, Edward, Donald, and Joseph Dusold, and a sister and brother in law, Mary Margaret (Stephen) Botinovch, a daughter in law, Dawnette (Hill) Rowan, two sisters in law, Norma Jean Herdt Dusold and Anna Maria Dusold and several nieces and nephews.She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Edward J. Rowan, five sons; Edward (Rhonda) Rowan of Monaca, Patrick (Nancy) Rowan of Thatcher, Arizona, Michael Rowan of Safford, Arizona, Shawn (Diane) Rowan of Jupiter, Florida, and James (Chrissy) Rowan of Largo, Florida, two daughters; Genevieve Ann (Ronald) Christ of Harrisburg, and Katherine (Lawrence) Sedlacek of Monaca, 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Two sisters in law, Roberta Dusold of Midland and Emogene Dusold of Chippewa Township, a brother in law and sister in law Michael (Ilene) Rowan of Monaca, numerous nieces and nephews.Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm in the Tatalovich Funeral Home, 3475 Brodhead Road, Center Township, where prayers will be offered on Thursday at 10:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 11:00 am in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.
