George E. Tew, 55, of Wickliffe, Ohio, formerly of Monaca, went to heaven on Sunday, December 18, 2011. His passing which occurred in Cleveland was unexpected.
Born July 16, 1956, he was a son of the late George M. and Dolores (Brautigam) Tew. A graduate of Monaca High School, Class of 1975, George was married to Karen (Klink) Tew and attended Kirtland Christian Fellowship in Willoughby, Ohio. An active outdoorsman, George enjoyed camping with his family and riding his Harley for charitable causes. George was an assistant scout master for Boy Scout Troop #316, participated in archery 3-D shoots and attended pow-wows where he proudly showed his skill in Indian dancing. His greatest joy was being ‘He-Pop’ to his granddaughter, Gracie. George was employed by Royce Security.
George will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 34 ½ years, Karen; his daughter, Heather Berry and her husband, Gene, of Monaca; his son, Christopher Tew of Glen Roy, Ohio; his cherished granddaughter, Victorya Grace Berry; three brothers-in-law, Don (Alberta) Klink, Glen (Missy) Klink and Keith Klink; two sisters-in-law, Joyce (Bill) Curtis and Cindy (Patrick) Nation and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Edward Tew on April 27, 1992 and his in-laws, John and Hazel Klink.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724-728-4000), where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. His pastor, the Rev. Tim French will officiate.
Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Beaver Falls.
