Gregory A. Herbold, age 49, born, Feb. 27, 1961, passed through the gates of heaven, Nov. 25, 2010, peacefully with his loving wife, Robin, and his family at his side at home after a long battle with cancer. Born to Paul and Judith Herbold, Greg was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed time with his family and friends; riding his Harley-Davidson, on which he made a trip to Sturgis with brother, Paul; yardwork and the Steelers. Surviving Greg are his parents, Paul and Judith; brother, Paul III of New York; wife, Robin; son, Stetson; two daughters, Jessica Taylor and her boyfriend, James Heck and Stephanie Lynch and her husband, Jessie, who moved in to assist Robin with his care and the yardwork, assisted by many friends. Also surviving Greg are four grandchildren; a nephew, Paul IV, many cousins and Greg?s in-laws, Chuck and Columbia Garren. Visitation will be at the Simpson Funeral & Cremation, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, www.simpsonfuneralhome.com Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. where a service will be held by Rev. Ronald Cunningham of the Aliquippa Baptist Temple on Main Street, Aliquippa. Family, friends and neighbors will be welcomed at Paul and Judy?s home following the services for the celebration of Greg?s life here and his journey into heaven. The family would like to thank the Medical Center Beaver, 1st Floor staff for their compassionate care; nurses, Diana, Sharon and Jamie and her husband, Rick Cousins; Drs. Ovadia, Grace Tarabay, Gregg Zernich and others; the chemo and radiation staff; the caring nurses of Medi-Home Hospice; nurses, Kim Bentz, Patty Ketterer, Cathy Kinerer and Barbara Tompkins. Good friends for visiting and doing work on the property, all his friends and neighbors who gave their time; Joe Beckey and his father, who lent a Round About wheelchair and built a ramp and sides going up the front porch; friends, Kevin and Ruth for organizing an oldies benefit dance and DJ Rick for disc jockey and all family and friends who attended. Barb Boyd and her parents, Bunk and Claire Potts for all they did and also Doug and Chris Campbell, special friends of Greg?s parents, who obtained and installed blue lights on Greg?s Harley and returned it to his home making him so happy and thankful during his sickness.
