Harold J. ‘Howie’ McClain, 62 of Chippewa Twp., formerly of Monaca passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley Beaver due to complications of a stroke. Born July 30, 1953 in Rochester, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Dennis) McClain.Howie was a graduate of Monaca High School, class of 1971 and recently retired from Standard Steel Corp., Beaver Falls following 43 years of employment. He enjoyed golfing and watching his nieces and nephews participate in sports. He was a former member of the Monaca S.O.I. and the Bandroom and was an avid Notre Dame fan.He leaves two brothers and two sisters: Tom ‘Tee’ McClain of Monaca, Terry (Brian) Mazine of Monaca, James (Nancy) McClain of Hudson, OH. and Wendy Reda (Dave Sherrock) of Freedom.Eight nieces and nephews: Kaley (Greg) Craft, Brett (Selena) Mazine, Bryann Mazine, Tony Reda, Dan McClain, Megan McClain, Nick Reda, and Kylie McClain. A great niece and great nephew, Kendall and Brody Craft both of whom he adored.Friends will be received on Monday, Aug 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where a blessing service will be held on Tuesday at 10 am.
