Last time I saw Bud was at the funeral of a mutual friend, and enjoyed a good trip down memory lane with him. He was a unique individual, a trustworthy friend, and someone you could always count on for a good laugh to get you out of a crappy mood.I have a lot of memories of him, some of which he might not want shared publicly, so I will simply say that he was a good friend to me and my brother Robert, and a man I hold a lot of respect for.My condolences to all his family, and the many friends who loved him.

How would life as a boy on the hill been like without Bud as a friend and protector? Without a doubt, much harder. He was the kindest fellow any time I was in a pinch, needed help to sort things out, and to save our butts from falling off steep cliffs. And to think I had on my mind to give him a call just a few days ago, after a lifetime of absence. Denny and I did get up to the hill when we were back to bury Dad, and surprisingly bumped into Howard Caplinger before he passed away. I longed for that same sort of reunion with Bud one day, especially now that I am retired. Rest in peace, buddy. To be absent in the flesh is to be present with the Lord, so you're in a good place right now. I never stopped loving you like a brother. You will always be remembered by me, always.

Very sorry today to miss the opportunity to be back home to pay my respects to Harry "Bud" Stobart and his family. My Uncle Bud was a man that I looked up to as a kid. He treated me with love and respect and was one of my biggest fans. I can still see him standing at the fence at my baseball or football games with a huge smile on his face and some positive words for me, regardless of the circumstances. Aunt Mary Anne was and still is one of the sweetest women I've ever met. I was always happy when I got a chance to see them when I returned home for a visit. My heart breaks for the entire family. My knowledge of Bud's great love for Jesus Christ makes me smile when I think of the grin that must be on his face as he meets his Lord. Rest in peace, Uncle Bud!
