Harry “Sam” Snyder, 89, of Ambridge passed away peacefully August 5, 2018 at Rochester Manor, Rochester under the care of Mother Theresa Hospice.Son of Walter and Ethel Snyder, he was born and raised in Beaver Falls and joined the U.S. Navy following high school. After nine years of service he resided in Ambridge with his wife Lillian (Wozny) who preceded him in death in 2002. Together they owned Snyder Hairstyling, where he was a licensed stylist. He later became co-owner of Maxim’s Bar and worked at Armco Steel Mill until its closure. His life’s dream was to become a chef and he graduated from Culinary Arts School at age 56. He became a restaurant and personal chef, professional caterer, and kitchen manager at the Salvation Army’s Camp Allegheny for 11 years.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister Joan “Sis” Aquino (Alfred “Allie”) and his furry companion, Bubba.He is survived by his children: Lou Anne Snyder and her son, Galen Snyder of Tucson, AZ., Laura Pasquale (Gary) of Ambridge and daughter Jessica Krol of Lund, Sweden, and Walter Snyder (Jeanene Trella) and children Tanner and Mackenzie Snyder of Monaca.
