Helen Irene Revay Olexa, of Monaca, passed away December 18, 2015 after a long illness. She was 87 years old.Helen was born February 18, 1928 in Monaca to Anna and Albert Revay. She married Charles Olexa on July 5, 1947. They made their home in the Monaca area but also lived in California, Virginia and Puerto Rico. They raised seven children.Helen was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting and made many wonderful keepsakes for her children. She stayed in touch with childhood friends and enjoyed her sisters, brothers and their families. She never forgot a birthday and was an avid card sender and letter writer. Her love of music is her lasting legacy to her family.Helen was preceded in death by her parents; a baby boy, Charles; a baby boy, David; a sister, Agnes and two brothers, Edward and John.Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles; a daughter, Deborah Stewart and her husband, Ronald; a daughter, Rebecca Fears and her husband, Dr. Richard; a daughter, Lori McBrayer and her husband, Darrell; a daughter, Betsy Pedroza and her husband SGM (Ret) Joseph; a daughter, Bonnie Swink; a daughter, Amy Williams and a son Christian Olexa and his wife, Jacqueline, along with 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Revay and his wife, Pearl; two sisters, Dorothy Arnold and Alberta Headland and her husband, Ronald, and many nieces and nephews.Friends will be received at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of parting prayers at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca.Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.Memorials may be made to St. John’s Catholic Church, 1501 Virginia Avenue, Monaca, PA 15061.To share online condolences, get directions and other information, please visit simpsonfuneralhome.com.
