Helen R. Revay Kolesar, 85, a lifelong resident of Monaca, passed away Sunday evening, March 29, 2015, following a lengthy illness.Born December 23, 1929, in Aliquippa, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Tillie Salmento. As a young lady she was employed as a lab technician at Koppers Company in Potter Township and later worked at Andy Gard Plastics in Leetsdale. A devout Catholic and faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca, Helen recited the Hour of Mercy at 3 p.m. every day. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working and tending her flower garden. Helen was a devoted and very much loved mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. Her life was full of loving deeds; always thoughtful of her family’s special needs. She will be remembered always and deeply missed by her entire family.In addition to her parents Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, John Michael Revay, a decorated World War II veteran, in 1975, and her second husband, Andrew Kolesar.She leaves three sons, John Revay and his wife, Barbara, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Kevin Revay and Mark Revay both of Monaca; a daughter, Susan Revay of Monaca, four grandchildren, Ashley Revay, Joseph McMinn, Marianne Revay and Kelly Revay; two sisters, Elizabeth Samarin and Martha Kermiet, both of Center Twp.; a brother, Sigmund Salmento of Nazareth, Pa.; nieces and nephews, Debra Samarin, Rosemarie and Bert Kermiet, and John, Paul, Mary, Terese and Elaine Salmento.A private visitation will be held Wednesday at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, prior to a mass of Christian burial at 1:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca.
