Helen L. Valentic, 90 of New Brighton passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Rochester Manor.
Born in Ohio on February 21, 1929, she was a daughter of the late William Clay and Serepta Margaret (McCord) Tennant. One of twelve children, Helen loved life and had a positive outlook. She is remembered as a person who never spoke ill of others. A homemaker for most of her life, Helen did work outside of her home for a while as a prep cook at the former Country Manor Restaurant, Monaca. Her favorite pastimes included reading, watching movies, playing bingo, and baking.
She is survived by a daughter, Sheila Bender and her husband, Kevin Clarke of Henderson, NV., two grandsons, Allen Kronk of Beaver and Ryan Bender of Henderson. Her only living brother, William Tennant in CA. A brother in law, John Valentic and his wife, Eva. Five special nieces, Donna, Mary, Betty, Helen and Barb, and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Her canine companion, Jose.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Valentic on August 15, 2015. A daughter, Jo Lynn Kronk in 1999. Six brothers: Raynor, Herbert, Philip Edward, Cecil, Blain and Glen. Four sisters: Dora Alma, Blondina, Rosalie and Ilene.
A memorial gathering will take place at a later date.
