Henry Frank Trella, 90, a lifelong resident of Monaca, went to be with the Lord Sunday afternoon, March 5, 2017.Born June 15, 1926, he was a son of Polish immigrants, the late Frank and Mary Trella. Following graduation from Monaca High School, Class of 1944, Henry enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served his country during World War II. He retired from Ampco Pittsburgh Corporation as a supervisor with 47 years of service. On June 28, 1958, Henry was united in marriage to the former Charlotte A. Sikora, at her home church, St. Adalbert Catholic Church on the South Side of Pittsburgh. She preceded him in death on May 12, 1998. Their union produced two loving daughters, five cherished grandchildren and an adored great-granddaughter. Family was the most important aspect of his life. He was known as the family historian and loved recalling stories about his military service and past family memories to the younger generations. Henry kept a close relationship with all his extended family.He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Jeanene Trella and her husband, Walter Snyder, of Monaca and Michele Husted and her husband, Lee, of Rock Hill SC; five grandchildren, Amanda Husted, Katelyn (Anthony) Ketchum, Elizabeth (Charles) Mackiewicz, Tanner Alexa Snyder and Macke Snyder; a great-granddaughter, Iris Ketchum; a sister, Helen McDonnell and three brothers, Charles (Dorothy) Trella, and Martin (Maria) Trella and Frank (Jacqueline) Trella, all of Monaca.In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Henry was preceded in death by seven brothers, Michael, Stanley, Joseph, Walter, John, Paul and Peter Trella; and three sisters, Frances Trella, Sophie Paster and Catherine Grossglass.Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where parting prayers will be offered Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. Rev. Fr. Michael R.
