Homer J. Gormley, 80, of Raccoon Township, formerly of Beaver, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, August 7, 2014. His passing occurred at home following a brief illness.Born December 11, 1933, in Shippingport, he was the last surviving child of the late Curtis Jennings and Catherine Pearl (Green) Gormley. Homer proudly served in the US Army as a corporal during the Korea War.  Following his discharge he returned home and found employment as a crane operator at Teledyne Vasco (Colonial Steel) in Monaca from where he retired with 28 years of service.  Homer was a faithful member of Monacrest Free Methodist Church.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger days.He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Geraldine Ann (Miller) with whom he was united in marriage on December 10, 1955; a daughter, Patricia Fetchin and her husband, Timothy, of Raccoon Township; three sons, Michael Gormley of North Sewickley Township; Donald Gormley of Raccoon Township and James Gormley and his wife, Grace, of Effingham, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Palmer, Melissa (Charlie) Moss, Ashlee (Tim) Shirley, Leah Gormley, James Gormley, Victoria Gormley, Christina Gormley and Jonalyn Gormley and six great-grandchildren plus a great granddaughter and great grandson twins that are expected this month.In addition to his parents Homer was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis James Gormley and three sisters, Catherine Schmidt, Velma Boyer and Evelyn Gormley.Friends will be received on Sunday, August 10^th, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. His pastor, the Rev.
