Ida Yacovoni Grilli, 89, formerly of Chippewa Twp. went home to the Lord Tuesday evening, July 3, 2012 at Friendship Ridge.
Mrs. Grilli was born in Italy on February 17, 1923, a daughter of the late Angelo and Mary (DeBacco) Yacovoni. Mrs. Grili and her late husband, Fred had a beautiful home in Chippewa where she loved to work in her flower gardens. She was also a wonderful cook and baker. She was Catholic by faith.
Her husband of 62 years, Fred Grilli passed away on April 28, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a sister and brother in law, Elizabeth and Henry Renzo and a sister in law, Mary Jane Yacovoni.
Ida is survived by a loving son, Michael Paul Grilli; two granddaughters, Megan and Amber; a brother, Dominic Yacovoni of Rochester; three nieces and their husbands: Mary Lou and Pastor James Draganac, JoAnn and Curtis Latshaw and Gloria and Charles Pinchotti, all of Monaca. She is also survived by several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 5th, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. A private family service will follow at 4 p.m. with her great-nephew, Pastor Kevin Draganac, officiating. She will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Monaca.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Trinity Oaks Care Center and Friendship Ridge (5 Main) for the compassionate care Ida received during her stay.
