To the family of Dr. Park - I was his student at PSU in 1985, and he has left such an impression on me. He encouraged me to change my major to philosophy, which I considered a great honor. I didn't follow that path, but I loved his classes and the few times I was able to talk to him as we walked between buildings. He had a beautiful spirit and I felt it shine on me. I just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss and how grateful I am to have been his student. I know that his joy and love live on in you, and that is good for us all.

Extremely sad to hear of Il's passing. He was a great colleague with me at Penn State Beaver. I enjoyed being invited to his house for faculty parties and I hope he enjoyed being invited, as he was, to my house. We had some great conversations. He was witty and wise. I valued him dearly, and will miss him.

So sorry to hear that Dr. Park has passed. He was such a wonderful, caring man. We much appreciated him visiting with our father after the passing of our mother. The neighborhood will not be the same. Such an honor to have had known such a great man. He is now reunited with friends and neighbors that loved him so much.

Sincere sympathy to the family. I have fond Penn State memories of IL Chul as both my late husband, Al, & I worked with him. We all became fast friends as the campus was small with only 14 faculty in 1967. I remember him as a humble, gentle man with great faith. Thoughts of him make me smile. God's peace, Carol Talvola-Brieck
Planning ahead is prudent. Call us now.

Dear Won Sook and family, I wish to express my deepest sympathy for your loss and the sympathy of many members of First Presbyterian Church of Beaver. Several of us were saying how much we missed you these last weeks (your presence was noticed as you shared a pew with me and my friends). You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God's Comfort and Peace be with you and may all your wonderful memories of IL Chul help you through your mourning period!

I remember Dr. Park and his wonderful family well as he was my Aunt Alice Hayes’ neighbor. I remember him as a kind, generous, wise man who loved his family, friendsand teaching. He left a positive footprint on this world. My condolences to Dr. Park’s family.
Reggie Bright left a message on March 13, 2019:
I remember a wonderful seminar taught by an animated Dr Park from back in the '80's. He told us he did not want to leave this world quietly but that there should be alot of tears and fan fare for him. Well, after all these years that simple lecture has stuck with me and I'm not sure why. Perhaps just to provide one of the many tears shed for the wonderful man.
