Jack Monroe Davis of Center Township went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 1, 2021, passing away peacefully in his home after a lengthy illness at the age of 87. Born in Monaca, he was a son of the late Monroe and Helen (Hites) Davis and a graduate of Monaca High School, class of 1951. At the young age of 16 years old, Jack gained employment with Teledyne Pittsburgh Tool Steel Corporation, Monaca as an inspector and worked his way up to superintendent. In 1973, he became Owner and President of D.B.& S. Steel. Along with his business partners, Charles Burk, and Ronald Swaqgard, they formed a specialty steel company called D. B. & S. Steel Corporation. D. B. & S. steel formerly located in Rochester, moved to Beaver Falls due to company expansion. To further expand, D. B. & S. Steel acquired Lloyd Associates and Palmetto Industrial Park in Florence, South Carolina.
Jack was a former member of Van Kirk Lutheran and Faith Lutheran Churches in Center Township. Currently, Jack is an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Beaver.
Jack had a fetish for luxury cars and golf. He was an avid golfer and was an active member of Beaver Valley Country Club. Over the years, he played in many tournaments. Most importantly, Jack was a family man and loved his family deeply. Jack was a generous man. A secret angel to others in need.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Jane Winkle Davis, of 64 years. Jack and Jane had four children, Michelle Davis-Behanna of Sun Lakes, Arizona, Jack (Lori) Davis of Patterson Township, Gregg (Debra) Davis of Ohioville and Rodney Davis of Center Township. His grandchildren: Michael (Elizabeth) Davis, Matthew (Stephanie) Davis, Christopher Davis, Amber Davis, Amanda (Alexis) Vazquez, Amie (Eric) Custer and Gregg Davis. His nine great grandchildren: Brea Gozar, Alexis Vazquez, Sheylee Davis, Riley Davis, Aiden Davis, Garrett Davis, Lincoln Davis, Grason Custer and Colten Davis.
Jack is preceded by his parents Monroe and Helen (Hites) Davis, two sisters, Mary Evelyn Springer and Shirley Ann Smith, a grandson, Nathan Davis, a granddaughter, Stacy Davis, two great grandchildren, Gavin and Sadie Custer, son in law, Daniel Behanna, and his two business partners, Charles Burk and Ronald Swaggard.
Friends will be received on Monday, July 5th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 6th at 11 am in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1098 Third Street, Beaver with his pastor, Reverend Thomas Moog and longtime friend and former pastor, Reverend Frank Kantz, co-officiating. Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Rochester.
The family especially wishes to thank Andrea, Jocelyn, Nika and Dave and the Gallagher Hospice for their compassionate care and love for Jack.
