James E. Miller, 85 of Rochester, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019.Born in Portage (Cambria County), he was the son of the late Walter C. and Goldie (Wyant) Miller. On December 30, 1955, he and the former Viola Molter were united in marriage.The couple moved to Beaver County in 1958, first settling in Freedom and later in Rochester. He was a longtime employee of the former Pittsburgh Tube Company in Monaca from where he retired as a crane operator with 43 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid coin and gun collector.James is survived by a daughter, Diana (Ken) Gaus, a son Brian S. Miller, Sr., 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a brother, Charles (Tillie) Miller, three sisters; Lucy and Agnes Abbotts and Gladys Simala.He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Viola A. on July 11, 2010, three sons, James ‘Eddie’, Martin, and Bruce A. Miller, two grandsons, Michael J. and Adam E. Miller. and three brothers: Joseph, Paul, and Francis Miller, and a daughter in law, Marie Miller.As per his wishes there will be no viewing.
