James Lucic

James Lucic, 88 of Monaca passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at his residence.

Born August 13, 1924, in New Brighton, he was a son of the late John and Barbara (Rokza) Lucic.

James was a World War II veteran having served in the US Army in Germany with the 44th Infantry and received a bronze star for his military service.

He was a retiree of the former LTV Steel?s Aliquippa works where he was employed in the welded tube department. James was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post #580, VFW Post #4653 and the Sportsman?s Club, all of Monaca.

He leaves his wife of 67 years, Helen (Korman) Lucic; a son, James E. Lucic (Teresa Oldaker) of Monaca; a daughter, Deborah (Dean) Gerazounis of New Brighton; five grandchildren, Ryan Gerazounis (fiancé Allie Lawson), Michelle Uthoff , James Lucic, David (Sonya) Lucic and Sheri (John) Lee; eleven great-grandchildren, Nathan Gerazounis, Bryson Swogger, Jayden, Jacob and Madison Uthoff, Caleb and Lily Lee, Aiden and Ethan Lucic , Josh Whitt and Tiffany Millirons.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anne (Angelo) Venanzio and a brother, Joseph (Anna Mae) Lucic.

As per Mr. Lucic?s request, no visitation and services will be held.

The family wishes to thank the VITAS Hospice Care staff for the extraordinary care given to Jim.
