James P. Pacitti, 87, of New Brighton, Pennsylvania passed away at his home from natural causes on Sunday, December 25, 2022.
Born on September 17, 1935, in Rochester, PA. , he a son of James and Mary (Santoro) Pacitti of Monaca, PA.
James was a retired employee of the Anchor Hocking Company where he was employed as a Quality Control Supervisor.
A U. S. Army veteran, he honorably served on active duty and was discharged in 1957.
James attended Monaca High School and received an associate degree from Community College of Beaver County.
He was a 50-year member of the Monaca Sons of Italy (SOI.) and a 25-year member of the YMCA of New Brighton, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Mary Ann (Long) Pacitti.
James is survived by his son Scott A. Pacitti of Charlotte, NC; his daughter, Michelle L. Stockunas of Monroeville, PA; his granddaughter, Mya Stockunas, currently attending Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania; his grandson, Mason Stockunas, soon to be graduating from Gateway High School; his sister, Geraldine (Pacitti) Kissinger, from Kansas City, MO; his nephew, Mark E. Stover of Traverse City, MI; and Mr. Stover’s significant other, Danette Dezelski.
James wanted to communicate to all the neighbors, friends and community members that he had befriended over the decades how much he appreciated their kindness and support, especially upon his late wife’s and his recent illnesses.
His family will plan a celebration of his life on a soon to be determined date, time and location.
In lieu of flowers monetary donations can be made on behalf of his son Scott’s nonprofit organization, Planet Improv, Incorporated, whose mission is “empowering resilience in students through creativity” at Planet Improv, Incorporated has been serving students since 2007.
