Jean V. Prosko, 88, formerly of Raccoon Township passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Rochester Manor. Born November 20, 1928 at home in Chester, West Virginia, she was the daughter of James and Mary V. Metsch. Jean and Edward J. Prosko were united in marriage on June 25, 1954. Edward was disabled at an early age so Jean went to work at the “World Famous” Midway Bar & Grill as a cook. Many of the Midway patrons have eaten wings that she was noted for. Jean loved to dance and do crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church.She leaves behind two daughters, Lisa (Brian) Carter of Center Township, Susan (James ‘Yaz’) Yonlisky of Beaver Falls, and a son, John Prosko of Center Township, her grandchildren; Stephanie Rathbun, Kurt (April) Sayre, Homer (Anne) Sayre, Tara (Curt) Couper, Jimmy Yonlisky (Emily), Dawn Kendrew (Chris), Jonathan (Taylor) Prosko and Josh (Rebecca) Prosko, and 11 great grandchildren. Her sisters; Shirley Best of Poland, OH and Mary Lou Walden of Baltimore, MD, also several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward in 1980, a great grandson and a brother, James Metsch.Friends will be received on Friday, July 14th from 2:00 pm-8:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:30 am until the time of services at 11 am in the Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Her pastor, Reverend Dr. Richard Herbster will officiate..
