Jeffrey D. Hyre, 58, formerly of Center Twp. passed away peacefully Sunday, July 15, 2012, at home.
Born February 15, 1954, in Clarksburg, WV, he was a son of Frances Hyre, of Crescent and the late John Hyre. Jeff was employed at Westinghouse and later at US Airways as a machinist. He also served the public as a Crescent policeman, volunteer fireman and as a deputy for the PA Fish and Game Commission.
He leaves his wife of 29 years, Brenda (Cutright) Hyre; five grandchildren; four sons, Jeff, Jr. of Lancaster, Aaron of Rising Sun, Md., Benjamin in Ramstein, Germany and Matthew of Crescent; four brothers, Terry and Randy both of Parkersburg, W Va., Tim of Coraopolis and Lenny of Raccoon Twp. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Rev. Dave Toddy, pastor of Brush Creek Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Aliquippa.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the family to defray funeral expenses c/o the funeral home.
