Our beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend died April 24, 2014, of injuries sustained in an auto-bike accident June 16, 2013, near Gainesville, Georgia.Jeff was born July 23, 1964, in Rochester, Pa. He was an honors graduate of Freedom Area High School and the Marine Corps Training Camp, Parris Island, South Carolina. Jeff was a true outdoorsman. He loved traveling, biking, hiking, camping and photographing natural life. While employed with the National Park Service, he volunteered to fight wild fires in the Grand Teton Mountains of Wyoming. He traveled through the National Parks, the Appalachian Trail, Mexico and England. Jeff had a natural wit and a great sense of humor. He is missed beyond words.Jeff is survived by his father, John W. Carr, New Mexico; his mother, Priscilla A. Carr, Freedom, Pa., and his brothers, John G. Carr, wife Angela, and children, West Virginia, and Stephen D. Carr, children and grandson, Freedom, Pa. He is also survived by his dear family, friends and co-workers in Georgia and Pennsylvania.The family especially thanks Dawn J. and the staff of the 4th Floor, Veterans Hospital, Butler, Pa., for their constant and compassionate care of Jeff and his family members. We will remember you always.There will be a military memorial service at a later date.
