Jerry Sanders of Monaca left this life on 2/17 just as he lived it, on his own terms. He was ready to be reunited with his beloved wife of over 50 years, Bonnie, as well as his parents, brothers and sister. Jerry was blessed to have celebrated his 80th birthday on 1/20 surrounded by his family and friends. He lived a life full of love, golf, beer and a healthy dose of sarcasm.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Terri & Allen Vaccarelli and Traci & Chris Kennedy. He was so proud of all of his grandchildren, Tori (Sam) Wittmer, Haylee (Michael) Sutter, Rylee (Michael) Vaccarelli, Nathan (Sydney) Kennedy, and Zakary (Chloe) Kennedy, but his 10 great-grandchildren Aleah, Jaelen, Keelan, Dexter, Granger, Tucker, Brenlynn, Levi, Karter and Ezra brought him pure joy. His special friend Deb Merges gave him purpose and brought him much happiness. He leaves a brother Robert βDannyβ Sanders who he loved spending time with as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Chris & Vicki Kennedy and Joe & Trish Vaccarelli, along with countless others started as friends and became family. His buddies Ghost and Gigi will miss him greatly and will not be nearly as spoiled in the future as they were with him.
A banker, Jerry retired from New Alliance FCU after working for various companies. He enjoyed socializing and golfing with his friends from the PNA, Monaca Turners, SOI and Bandroom and was a life-long member of the Monaca No 1 VFD.
Jerry will be remembered for his βTell it Like it isβ personality.
The family would like to than everyone who helped and provided care to Jerry over the last few months, but especially Shannon Sullivan βhis 3rd adopted daughterβ who cared for him for years and kicked his butt when he needed it.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 21st from 6 -8pm at the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, PA and on Wednesday, February 22nd from 10am β noon with a service following.
