Joan Lee Helen Schultz Ciccozzi, 76, of Monaca died Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.Born January 29, 1941 in West Aliquippa, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy Schultz and devoted daughter-in-law to the late Ercle and Virginia Ciccozzi. Joan was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca where she was christened, made her first Holy Communion, was married and where she will be laid to rest.She was preceded in death by her sister Judy Kosto and a sister in law and husband, Jean and Jack Peters; brothers in law, Dave Kosto, and Robert Brashears.She is survived by her husband Ronald Ciccozzi, a brother and sister-in-law, Regis and Helen Schultz, sister, Patty Brashears, and a sister and brother-in-law Jayne Humbert and Ray Humbert.Joan Schultz married Ron Ciccozzi on August 11, 1962. Shortly before Joan died, they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Joan’s husband, children and grandchildren enveloped her with loving care throughout her long battle with breast and bone cancer. They include: Amy and Earl Schweinsberg and their children Nicole, Ethan and Erica; Jeanne and Jamie Capelli along with their children James, wife Danielle and Jordan; Jill and Eli Flournoy and their children Dakota and Cole.Joan devoted her life to helping run the many businesses she and Ron built together while tirelessly and lovingly looking after aging parents and in-laws as well as aunts and uncles in the family. She will be remembered for her boundless energy and the ability to run circles around her own daughters as she cleaned, cooked and cared for each of her seven grandchildren when they were born.Friends and family will be received at Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca on Thursday, September 28th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, where prayers will be offered on Friday, September 29th at 9:30 am followed by a mass at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca at 10 am. Interment will take place at the parish cemetery. This beautiful facility brought comfort and peace to the Ciccozzi family during Joan’s last days. Their staff provided professional heartfelt care when it was needed most.
