John “Chick” DiBiagio passed away suddenly on October 7, 2018 at his home in Monaca, PA. He is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Bonita DiBiagio, to whom he was married for 48 years. Chick is also survived by his sons and daughter-in-laws Tony & Stephanie DiBiagio, Brian & Krista DiBiagio, grandchildren Kylee Porto, Matteo DiBiagio, Lydia DiBiagio, Nico DiBiagio, and Emilia  DiBiagio, a brother Frank DiBiagio, and numerous lifelong friends that he counted as close as his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather that taught, protected, supported, and loved his family with a singular focus. More than anything, Chick was most passionate about his family and spending as much time as possible with them at family dinners, beach vacations, and other functions. Of the numerous roles Chick performed, his most cherished was that of grandfather. Born in Rochester, PA in 1948 to Albert and Amelia DiBiagio, Chick lived a full and active life. He worked for  38 years at Nova Chemical and, upon his retirement worked briefly for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers before becoming a dealer at the Mountaineer Racetrack and subsequently the Meadows Casino. Chick was a member of St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, the Monaca S.O.I., and Seven Oaks Country Club. A lifelong athlete Chick played baseball and softball throughout his life, as well as being an avid and accomplished golfer. He coached youth baseball, sharing his love and skill of the game and inspiring many children with his enthusiasm. He was also a referee for local high school football games for many years. Chick was the rock of his family and he is and always will be missed by his friends and family more than words can convey. Visitation will be held at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Service, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca on October 10, 2018 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. and where prayers will be offered on Thursday at 9:30 am. A Mass will be held at St John the Baptist in Monaca on October 11, 2018 at 10:00am, followed by a gathering at the Monaca S.O.I. at 11:30am.
