John B. ?Bronk? Sochor, 95, a lifelong resident of Center Twp., passed away peacefully on Monday, April 30, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was a son of the late Broanislav M. and Suzanne (Majzlik) Sochor.
Wanting a place for his children to play baseball, Mr. Sochor was responsible for the construction of the two original baseball fields near the municipal building in Center Twp. He was currently a member of the Rochester Lodge No. 229 F. & A.M. and a former member of the Center Twp. VFW Post 1821. He enjoyed bowling and was a former tournament horseshoe pitcher.
Mr. Sochor leaves his wife, Thelma (Tomajko) Sochor; his former wife, Katherine Sochor; his children, Andy Sochor and his wife, Gloria, of Center Twp., Janet Berarducci and her husband, Wilbert, of Rochester and Thomas Sochor and his wife, Joyce, of Center Twp.; proud grandfather of Brian, Precious, Wilbert Jr., Shane, April, Jacki, Carly and Tom ?Hoss?. Twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary and Lydia, and two brothers, Fred and Tom.
In addition to his parents Mr. Sochor was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley; a brother, Ben, and four sisters, Ida, Martha, Gert and Zelma.
Funeral services were private.
