John D. Bogard, Jr., 84, of Center Township, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014.Born January 11, 1930, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late John D. Sr. and Louise Bogard. John proudly served in the US Army during World War II and later enlisted in the US Marine Corps and was stationed in Japan. He was a retired iron worker of Local 3, Pittsburgh. He was a life member of American Legion Post #580 in Monaca and a member of VanKirk Lutheran Church in Center Township.He leaves his wife, Shirley A. (Erickson) Bogard, with whom he recently celebrated 53 years of marriage prior to his death; a son, John D. Bogard, III of Monaca; a daughter, Beth A. Timco and her husband, Mark, of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, Emily Bogard, Jena (Joe) Intiso and Jeremy (Jen) Timco and two great-grandchildren, Harmony Timco and Weston Timco.In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas E. Bogard and Robert J. Bogard and a sister, Elsie Pinson.A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12th, at 10 a.m. at Van Kirk Lutheran Church, 106 VanKirk Road, Monaca. His pastor, Rev. A.
