John E. ?Jack? Blostic, 74, of South Beaver Twp., passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born November 8, 1936, in Chippewa Twp., he was a son of the late John ?Blazack? Blostic and Esther (Robinson) Blostic Bovankovitz and step-son of the late John Bovankovitz. A graduate of Beaver Falls High School, Class of 1956, Jack proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and was owner of Blostic Excavating Co. where he was a heavy equipment operator. As a young man, he built stock cars to race at the Canfield Fairgrounds. In addition to playing softball and bowling, Jack farmed; collected antiques, particularly tea sets, and made ceramics. His favorite time of year was Christmas when he would love to decorate his house.
He leaves to mourn his loss a son, Jeff Blostic, and his wife, Tammy, of New Galilee; four grandchildren, Jamie & Mark DeNelle of Chippewa Twp; Zachary Crawford of New Galilee and Travis (Jordan) Blostic of New Galilee; two great-grandsons, Nathaniel & Noah of Chippewa Twp.; a sister, Rose (Bob) Osman of South Beaver Twp. and many nieces and nephews. Jack adored his ?grandpuppies?, Buffy, Chloe and Bella.
Friends will be received Sunday, October 23rd, from 3 to 5 p.m. at New Galilee Fire Hall, 606 Centennial Avenue, New Galilee, to visit with the family and share memories of Jack. Pastor Gary C. Bailey, of Brush Run United Methodist Church, Beaver Falls, will officiate a memorial service.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff of Beaver Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the care he received.
