John A. Lavrusky, III, 84, formerly of Monaca and Rochester passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.
Born on October 23, 1935 he was the son of the late John A. and Marie Elizabeth (Shepard) Lavrusky, II. John was a 1953 graduate of Monaca High School. He was a member of the Monaca Center Lodge # 791 F& AM and served as the lodge’s Tyler since the 1970’s. He was also a member of the American Legion Post # 580, F.O.E. # 1429 in Freedom and a life member of both the Monaca Band Room and the Monaca Sportsman’s Club. John was employed as a laborer with the C.U.P.E. laborers union Local # 833 until his retirement. Bowling was one of his favorite past times.
John will be sadly missed by his son, Jon B. Lavrusky of New Brighton, two granddaughters; Mercedes and Madyson, his brother Henry Lavrusky, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine in 2013 and a brother, James Lavrusky.
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca with a Masonic Service at 7:30 PM.
