John Robitz, 92, of Monaca, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in The Medical Center, Beaver.
Born August 29, 1915, in Monaca John was a son of the late John and Sarah (Leitschaft) Robitz. A member of St. Peter?s German Lutheran Church in Monaca he was a superintendent of the Sunday School for many years. John was an avid golfer and also loved to fish and bowl.
John was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Amelia (Martinchek) Robitz whom he married February 14, 1937, and brothers William, Henry and Edward.
He leaves a daughter, Salle (Dean) Bangor and a son John E. (Blitz) Robitz; seven grandchildren, Beth (Chris) Gilbert, Paul (Kim) Bangor, Jon Bangor, Joy (Richard) George, Tim Robitz, Christopher Robitz and Melissa Wesley; 16 great-grandchildren, Lindsay Bangor, Kaleigh and Ian Bangor, Henry and Rory Gilbert, Trevor, Elle, John and Emma George, Matt, Ryne and Jake Robitz, Annabelle and Delany Robitz, Keegan and Landon Wesley.
Friends will be received Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, with a service to follow at 6 p.m. Rev. Mark A. Groves, pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church will officiate.
John will be terribly missed by his family and we thank him for being such a good person and role model. Rest well Dad, your job was well done!!
