We are sad to announce the passing of John Samuel Patterson, Jr. of Center Twp. on February 15, 2023.
He was born on January 27, 1931 in Beaver Falls, Pa. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Rosemarie (Pizzuti) Patterson. Jack was the son of the late Edna and John Samuel Patterson of Beaver Falls and the son-in;law of Rose and John Puzzuti. He also had one sister Margaret Gettemy and one brother-in-law, Tom Pizzuti who are deceased.
Jack is survived by three children: Jack Patterson (Suellen), Kathy Reznick (Barry) and Terri Specht (Paul). He also has six grandchildren: Julie Saibena (Tim), Zachary Karcz, Joseph Specht (Stephanie), Judy Cluggish (Kevin), Kayla Karcz and Jodi Patterson. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren: Lucy Cluggish and Barrett Specht. Jack was very lucky to have a wonderful extended family: Toni Haller (George), Terri Burnett, John Pizzuti (Denise) and Michele Pizzuti. He had a wonderful caretaker: Barb Hill, Jack had two very dear friends who visited with him every week: Chaplin (Colonel) Gary Brown and Jack Sommers. Jack worked and retired from ARCO Polymers Company where he was employed as a Departmental General Foreman. He served in the Korean War and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and Presidential Unit Citation.
Jack and his wife Rosemarie traveled “around the World” and experienced many different countries and cultures. He was a member of Mary, Queen of Saints Parish (St Frances Cabrini)
The family would like to thank the Good Samaritan Hospice nurses and the Villa of St Joseph where he resided and received wonderful care for the past three months.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where prayers will be offered on Monday at 9:15 AM followed by a mass of Christian burial at Mary, Queen of Saints Parish (St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church), Trinity Drive, Aliquippa at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
