John W. ‘Jack’ Thompson, III, 70, of Center Township, passed away Wednesday morning, November 9, 2016, at his residence.Born July 25, 1946, in Beaver Falls, he was a son of the late John W. Jr. and Blanche (Merriman) Thompson. Following graduation from New Brighton High School in 1964, Jack served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to the former Rose Ann Sciaretta on October 18, 1969 and together they celebrated their 47th anniversary this year. The couple had lived in Middleburg, FL for 20 years before moving back to the Beaver County area. A train dispatcher for CSX Transportation in Jacksonville, FL, Jack retired in 2006 after 37 years of service. He was a member of Center Township #3 volunteer fire department.He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Rose Ann; three children, John Thompson and his wife, Crisha, of Midland, Bryan Thompson and his wife, Jill, of Boardman, OH, and Sherri Hersey and her husband, Timothy, of St. George, GA; eight grandchildren, Tyler Aulds, Kaleb, Donovan & Logan Hersey. Brichne Wenner, Necolai and Giovanni Thompson and Justin Wilkinson; two great-grandchildren, Bentley Wenner and Tyde Aulds, and two sisters Judi (Larry) Carpenter of Beaver and Jill (Charles) Varga of Banning, CA, along with numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Tammi and Brenda Thompson.Friends will be received Sunday, from 1 to 6 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Rev. Patricia G.
