I was sitting here thinking about my Uncle John and even though it been almost 2 years since his passing I wanted to share this memory. My sister Judy and I were around 6 or 7 when my Uncle came to pick us up in his new car. It was a Cadillac I think not sue, but it was a big long black car with a convertible roof. Had wing fenders in the back. He was so proud to show it off. He said get in I'm taking you for ice cream. Judy and I climbed in the back and off we went. Don't remember we're he took us but remember him putting the top down on the car. Well on the drive back ice cream has a way of melting faster when the breeze hits it, and their was lots of it with the top down. We licked those cones as fast as we could but the ice cream kept dripping and flying on the back seat. By the time we got home it was a mess. We thought Uncle John would be mad, but all he did was help us out look at the seat and said, next time we'll keep the roof on, and laughed alittle. We really loved our Uncle. You could tell how much he loved his sister my Mom Helen Cromer. Oh, and when he finally got a girlfriend, he got a young one, we loved her, my Aunt Eleanor. I will always keep a special place in my heart for them. I'm sure your all together now playing cards. ❤️

I'm sure none of the family knows me but my memory of John goes back some 50-55 years. He used to like hanging around some sporting events that his nephew, Bob Cromer, participated in. Bob and I played baseball and football together and I'll always remember John being a friendly guy who was always smiling when we'd see him on the ball fields.I'm very sorry for you loss.
