Joseph Carey, 47, of Rochester (Beaver County), a loving husband and father, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, July 13, 2011, at Heritage Valley, Beaver.
Born April 13, 1964, in McKees Rocks, he was a son of the late Florence Utz Carey and grandson of the late Alfred and Florence Utz. A graduate of Sto-Rox High School, Class of 1982, Joe attended Community College of Allegheny County and was currently employed as an assembler at Eaton Corp., Beaver Plant. Formerly he was employed by MidAtlantic Company as a quality control technician. He attended Wildwood Chapel, Aliquippa, and was a member of Rochester Turners and Rochester Township Fireman?s Club.
Joe spent his leisure time camping and fishing, and he especially treasured hunting trips with his son, Joshua. He enjoyed watching Penguin and Steeler games and particularly gathering the family together to watch movies at ?Joe?s Cinema?. Joe will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and ability to make people laugh.
Joe will be sadly missed by his adoring wife, Joan Geffert Carey, whom he married June 4, 1987; his loving son and daughter, Joshua and Jenna, both at home; his sister, Doris Turner and her husband, Dave; four brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Noreen and Mike Muha, Kitty and Mike Helm; Tricia and Cliff Huft and John Geffert; and several nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca where relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday at 10 a.m. Pastor Rich Liptak of Wildwood Chapel will officiate.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to friends and neighbors for their prayers and numerous acts of kindness during Joe?s passing.
