Joseph Melchiorre, 87, of Monaca, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 27, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver.Born April 2, 1928, in Monaca, he was a son of the late Anthony and Filomena (Vignali) Melchiorre. After graduating from high school, Joe proudly serving as a sergeant in the US Army with Troup B, 12th Calvary Regiment during World War II. Following the war he gained employment with AMPCO Wyckoff Steel Division where he retired in 1987 with more than 35 years of service. A member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca, Joe also enjoyed memberships in Polish National Alliance and Sons of Italy, both in Monaca.He will be sadly missed by his sisters and brother, Anita Melchiorre with whom he resided, Mary Reina, Samuel Melchiorre and his wife, Julia, and Angeline Fronko, along with numerous nieces and nephews.Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, where parting prayers will be offered Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Fr.
