Joseph Relich, 70 of Center Township, formerly of Monaca, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 20, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Born at home in West Aliquippa, he was a son of the late Nicholas, Sr. and Anna Relich.  A great athlete, Joe attended Monaca schools where he excelled in both football and baseball.  A Vietnam Veteran, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1970 and proudly served his country in the 2^nd Battalion, 16^th Infantry.  Joe particularly loved the holidays and was known for his elaborate holiday decorations at Halloween and Christmas at his Elmira Street home and later carried on the tradition to his Center Township home.  Both his home and his brother’s home were extensively covered with lights.  He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan of the Steelers and Penguins.  Joe was employed at Budget Rental Car and was a member of the Teamsters Local # 926 where he served as a union steward.  Most of all, he was devoted to his family.

He leaves his wife of 30 years, Janice Relich, to whom he was united in marriage on July 13, 1991, a son and daughter in law, Michael and Valerie Cichoski, a granddaughter, Katie Cichoski, and a grandson, Alex and wife Sheena Winkle and a great granddaughter, Alaia Winkle, a brother, John (Donna) Relich, a nephew, John Jr. (Nicole) Relich, and their twin daughters, Hazel and Harlow, a sister, Mildred.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Nick, Jr., Michael, George and Dorothy.

A Memorial Service will be held on on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 for friends and family at 1:00 pm at Monacrest Free Methodist Church, 995 Elmira Street, Monaca.  Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army at 1:30 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN   38105.
