Joseph Thomas “Joe” DeFelice, 60 passed away peacefully at his Monaca residence on Saturday, September 30, 2023, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Raised in Aliquippa, Joe was a pillar of strength, resilience, and love to those who were fortunate to know him.
Joe was a son of John DeFelice of Monaca and the late Shirley DeFelice and a devoted partner, who cherished his relationship with his beloved wife of 36 years, Tracy Lynn Petrella DeFelice. He was the father of Joey DeFelice-Ellison, Brandyn (Natalie) DeFelice, Daryn (Katie) DeFelice, and Joccelyn (Jalen) DeFelice. Joe was also a loving grandfather to Carter, Cameron, Cayson, and eagerly anticipated the arrival of Jayla Rae. He also leaves behind his siblings: Lynne DeFelice (Sharon) of Fallston, John DeFelice of New Brighton, Tony DeFelice of Monaca, Mike (Lori) DeFelice of Hopewell, and Chris (Tammy) DeFelice of Monaca. He was loved by his extended family, including his in-laws: Barbara Petrella of Monaca and Bert (Nanette) Petrella in Florida, brother-in-law, Dean (Dena) Petrella of Cranberry, and sisters-in-law, Raine Petrella and Mariah Petrella, both in Florida. Joe also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, who will dearly miss their uncle.
During his working career, Joe was a dedicated machine operator at Cygnus Manufacturing Corp., Saxonburg.
Joe had a passion for life. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed hitting the links with his friends and family. His love for the beach led to many memorable vacations at Sandbridge Beach, Virginia, where he loved to unwind and enjoy the company of his loved ones. As a sports enthusiast, Joe enjoyed watching games and cheering for his favorite teams. He also had a knack for playing horseshoes, a pastime he often indulged in while socializing with his friends and family.
Joe’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled. However, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 3rd at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca from 2-4 pm and 5-7 pm with a service to follow at 7 pm.
