Juanita DeChellis

Juanita (Wood) DeChellis, 89 of Monaca passed away on February 11, 2018 at Brighton Rehab & Wellness Center, Beaver.Born on April 7, 1928 in Hartshorne, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Grace (Pastrick) Wood.  Juanita was raised in Ambridge and was a graduate of Ambridge High School.  She and Christy DeChellis were united in marriage and made their home in Monaca where she was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.In addition to her parents Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Christy E. DeChellis in 2006. The last surviving daughter, Juanita was preceded by two sisters, Lucille Wargo, and Etta Jean Manolakos, two nephews, Leonard Wargo and Raymond Wargo, a great nephew, Leonard “Buddy” Wargo and a great niece, Jennifer Smith. She was also preceded by numerous sisters in law and brothers in law of the DeChellis and Petrella families.Juanita is survived by two children, Gary Lee (Susan) DeChellis of Marengo, OH, Shawn Alan (Angel) DeChellis of Ambridge ; two grandchildren, Justin and Emily DeChellis of Marengo, OH;  nieces and nephews: Kathy Wargo  and Carol Wargo, both of Johnstown; Janet and Kevin O’Neill in Florida, Vicki and Jim Geisler and Anna and Mike Douglas, all of Arizonia, and a great nephew, Jason Smith, and a great great  niece, Alexi Raye Smith.Friends will be received on Friday in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, from 8:00 am until 10:30 am where prayers will be offered at 10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.  Private interment will take place in the Parish cemetery.In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Lutheran Senior Life Foundation, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, PA  16063 to benefit Life Beaver. To share online condolences, get directions and other information, please visit simpsonfuneralhome.com.
