Julia Marilyn (Hutchinson) Brush, 86 of Monaca entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
Born and raised in Monaca, she was the daughter of the late Milford B. and Catherine Irene (Carnahan) Hutchinson.
Julia’s chosen profession was nursing. She was a graduate of Temple University’s registered nurses’ program, Penn State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree for Nursing and Carnegie Mellon University with a Master’s Degree for Hospital Administration. Following many years caring for others, she retired as the Vice President of Support Services and Director of Nurses from Aliquippa Hospital.
Julia was an avid reader and attended theatre performances as often as she could. She also traveled extensively all over the world and was a wine enthusiast. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monaca where she previously served as an elder and deacon. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the former Monaca Women’s Club and the American Nursing Association.
In addition to her late parents, Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert L. Brush, on June 9, 2017. She was also predeceased by seven brothers: Milford Hutchinson, Elmer Hutchinson, Dale Hutchinson, Leonard Hutchinson, Raymond Hutchinson, John Hutchinson and Michael J. Hutchinson.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Timothy D. (Lynn DeWald) Brush of Stevensville, MI., Jeffrey R. Brush (Mario Calvo) of Wilton Manors, FLA. and Debra I. (Dennis Timothy) Cronin of Aurora, OH. and four grandchildren, Monica (Aaron) Eli, Cherish Cronin, Dylan Cronin and Leah Brush. She is also survived by a brother, Robert (Carol) Hutchinson of Winter Haven, FLA. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received on Saturday, July 14, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where services will be held on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. with her pastor, the Reverend Beth Wierman, officiating. She will be laid to rest on Monday at 10:15 a.m. in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester. (Those planning to attend are asked to meet at the Simpson’s by 10 a.m.)
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made, if desired to the First Presbyterian Church’s Memorial Fund, 1301 Indiana Avenue, Monaca, PA. 15061
