Leona Ruth (Smith) May, 79 of Monaca Boro died on Friday, January 18, 2019 with her children at her side.Born in Beaver, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Sylvia (Ammon) Smith.  A homemaker, Leona found love and fulfillment caring for her children and family and tending to her garden, particularly her roses and lilacs.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Charles Bruce May, Sr., two brothers; George Smith, Jr. and William Smith, and two sisters; Rose Cochran and Evelyn Wright.Leona is survived by one son, Charles Bruce (Debbie) May, Jr., and three daughters; Patricia (the late Jimmie Joe) Allshouse, Beatrice Fox (David Halama), Barbara (Nick) Radosh, seven grandchildren; Christina Nye, Leonard Youngberg, Tammie Youngberg, Jason May, Jennifer Jones, Hanna May and Charlee May, seven great grandchildren; Sydnie Hall, Sara Hall, William Sabolowsky, Alexis Nye, Josh Sabolowsky, Danielle May, Brian Youngberg, a great great grandson, Jackson Luchini, a sister Pearl Chalmers of Virginia and a brother Bernard (Karen) Smith of Virginia, two sisters in law; Rose Smith, Judith McPherson and one brother in law, Richard May, and many nieces and nephews.Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, Monaca, where a service will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 PM with Reverend Deborah Huffmyer officiating.   Private interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Monaca.Our family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff of the Good Samaritan Hospice organization.  You were truly a light in our time of need.To share online condolences, get directions and other information, please visit simpsonfuneralhome.com.
