Leonora “Corky” Mickey, of Monaca, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on December 11,
2022. Beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend Corky was the daughter of
the late Samuel J. and Anna Setting. Corky was also preceded in death by her adoring husband
of 35 years, Edward J. Mickey.
Corky found happiness and joy in her large and loving family and lifelong circle of friends. That
happiness and joy was reciprocated by all who knew her. Corky was dedicated to the
community where she was born and raised and was just recently inducted to the Monaca Hall
of Fame, Class of 2022.
Corky leaves behind her five cherished children David (Joanne), Sammy (Cynthia), Jodi, Michael
(Anita) and Gina (John) Murphy; sister Patricia and the late Richard “Shot” Pavlinch; and
brother Sam (Janice) Setting Jr. She will be remembered always as the best Nana to Erica
(Brian) Andrews, Shannon, Giovani, David, Maya, Michael, Gianna Carina and Lily and was loved
dearly by several great-grandchildren. Corky was also a loving Aunt and will be missed by many
nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, December 15th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in
the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca where prayers will
be offered on Friday, December 16th, at 9:00 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10
a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.
To be in Corky’s presence was an experience. She was funny, energetic, and loud! Corky, you
will be missed. For now, we carry your memory as you take a piece of our love into your destiny
– Heaven. You will remain forever in our hearts. We love you, Mom!

My grandmother was the greatest thing ever. I remember her making Mickey Mouse pancakes nana you are and always will be my best friend i love you so so much. I really can't believe you are gone i miss you like crazy.. I love you so much my beautiful nana

I have fond memories of Coach Mickey and I'm thankful that she helped found the girl's summer softball league. We spent many summers on that field. Condolences to the entire family.

My Aunt Corky was one of my best friends! I will always remember our talks and time together at her kitchen table! We laughed and cried together, she gave me good advice and always supported me even when I moved to California a long time ago. She is our angel now, watching over us with her light and love and I will miss her dealing. I am so saddened to learn of Corky's passing. All my memories of her and Mick were filled with laughter, especially during my time serving with him in the early 80's on Monaca Borough Council. One special moment i recall was sitting on her front porch facing Marshall Road and her passing me the cigarette she was smoking, so her dad wouldn't see her smoking when he was turning into the driveway. (She was probably in her mid 40"s at the time) She brought such joy and lifted the spirits of anyone she came in contact with. I pray that the love and prayers shared by family and friends will lift you up and bring you some peace and comfort over this great loss in your life. I can imagine Mickey raising his voice to her today, asking her why it took so long for her to join him in heaven. God Bless you.
