Lester L. Fraser, 90 of Monaca, formerly of Brighton Township, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at his residence.
Lester was born on January 12, 1929 in Bridgewater and was a graduate of Beaver High School. He enlisted into the US Army in 1948 and served with the Third M.P. Co., Third Infantry Division and was awarded the Korean Campaign Ribbon with three bronze stars and the Occupational Medal (Japan) for his honorable service to his country. Lester served Brighton Township for over 25 years as a sergeant with the Brighton Township Police Department. One of his passions with the police force was the McGruff Community Crime Watch in Brighton Township which he helped spearhead. Lester was also employed at Crucible Steel , Midland for a period of time.
He was a member of the Brighton Township Historical Society and enjoyed deer hunting with his son.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Elizabeth M. (Grillo) Fraser, a son, Lester W. (Deanne) Fraser, a daughter, Pamela Lynn Pletcher, and three stepchildren; Lisa M. (David) McNutt, John βMartyβ Kassell (Miya Samuel), and Karen (Richard, Jr.) Holley; six grandchildren: Heidi Coburn, Olivia Holley, Peyton Holley, Scott Lyons, Christian Kassell and Makai Kassell; three great grandchildren: Dalton Fraser, Eve Fraser, and Jules Coburn.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Fraser and two sisters, Norma Lansberry and Peggy Thompson.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 AM.Β Interment will follow with full military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
